The car received a full restoration by Evans Classic Car Restorations who completes only one car at a time. This tried and true method of dedication to an individual car shows with their results. The entire process was documented with photographs. Both the body and frame were professional media blasted to bare metal. The frame and suspension components were powder-coated black. What minor rust that was found in the body was removed and replaced with only GM replacement panels. The body was treated to a professional repaint in a PPG base coat/ clear coat application and looks absolutely amazing under the sun! The engine was drained and pulled apart receiving only a fresh rear main seal, freeze plugs, and new gaskets for the oil pan, intake, valve cover, carburetor, and water pump. The transmission received a fresh clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and throw-out bearing. This engine block has never been modified, bored, or honed outside of the factory! The radiator, water pump, thermostat, GM hoses and tower clamps are all new. The entire fuel system from the tank to rebuilt Quadrajet carburetor is new, the entire braking system is new, as is the complete exhaust system. The underside is as beautiful as the topside!
This 76,000 actual mileage example was recently found parked in a Rhode Island garage in all original condition just sitting for 35 years! Because of this fact, it possessed nearly all of its original mechanical components including 1967 date-coded spark plug wires, original alternator, power steering pump, starter, and accessory belts! All of these components were replaced for new, but all originals are being provided to the next owner. This is very unique opportunity to own a 4-speed, number’s matching GTO convertible in a truly stunning color combination not often seen!
