2018 and 2019 Honda CR-V models have earned highest pedestrian detection and crash prevention rating of “Superior”, based on the testing of the latest Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies. The prestigious recognition has been done by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which has also given “Superior” score for Crash Avoidance and Mitigation.
Along with the crash avoidance features, the 2019 CR-V also scores top rating when equipped with LED headlights and Honda Sensing and it is expected to earn the 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in its New Car Assessment Program.
The technology itself, Honda Sensing, is part of the standard equipment on EX and above trims for CR-V. It helps provides drivers with greater awareness of conditions around the vehicle and in many cases aids passengers maintain lane position and is capable of slowing or even stopping in case of detected collision.
Honda Sensing suite is comprised of Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation, Incorporating Lane Departure Warning, lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.
As you might know, CR-V has been one of the best-selling crossover machines over the course of two decades, since the initial launch in 1997. This is also the first Honda model to feature Honda Sensing technology.
