Hyundai’s 2018 Kona, 2019 Santa Fe and NEXO have been awarded with Silver Award winner in the 2018 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), held by the Industrial Designers Society of America. The prestigious recognition was given for highlighting Hyundai’s bold design language and futuristic ideas. All three vehicles have managed to meet IDEA’s design demands and showcased some style and determination.
Brand’s first entry, the subcompact SUV Kona is designed with “urban adventurer” idea in mind. Although being small, compared to other SUVs, the agile vehicle boasts toughness, aggressive and yet beautiful design and resembles these who take emotional and spontaneous actions in order to feel the pleasure of life.
On the other hand, Santa Fe has just reached Hyundai dealers. Designed with new face and signature cascade grille, along with composite light design LED daytime running lights and massive, muscular and athletic design, new Santa Fe continues to impress both enthusiasts and brand sceptics.
And last, but most certainly not least, the all-new 2019 NEXO, Hyundai’s second-gen fuel cell electric vehicle, features innovative energy source, sexy and appealing styling with streamline silhouette and floating roof. NEXO is, in fact, the fist hydrogen-powered SUV that combines the utility and reliability of a Sports Utility Vehicle concept and cutting-edge autonomous driving capabilities. And on to top off all of this sweetness, Hyundai team has included smart advanced driver assistance systems and one of the most advanced drivetrain systems in the segment.
The event itself, IDEA recognizes and promotes design excellence across wide array of industries and disciplines and chooses winners based on criteria for design innovation, benefit to the user, benefit to the client, benefit to society and appropriate aesthetics. Enjoy!
