Volkswagen of America, Inc. proudly announces that Popular Mechanics magazine has named the VW Golf GTI “Hatchback of the Year” in its 2019 Automotive Excellence awards. This is the second time in a row that the GTI is recognized as one of the winners in the annual awards.
Chosen among numerous rivals, 2019 Golf GTI has managed to earn jury’s sympathy with its extended list of goodies. The vehicle is offered in four trim levels, S, SE, Autobahn and the GTI Rabbit Limited Edition, and all of them generate a total of 228hp and are geared with Golf R brakes and VAQ electronically-controlled limited-slip differential.
Additionally, there are Front assist, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Traffic Alert and the optional Driver Assistance Package for the S models. Furthermore, SE models feature new leather seating surfaces, along with Fender Premium Audio and DCC adaptive damping system.
And last, but not least, every new 2019 Golf GT comes with People First Warranty, America’s Best Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty. It provides coverage for six years or 72,000 miles and can be transferred to a subsequent owner through the remainder of the duration. How cool is that!
